Pre-Montessori & Montessori
Little ones toddle their way into playgroup holding their parent’s hand. This is the first time your child will be stepping out of home, so it is very important to ensure that he feels the environment at school as homely. Our teachers and school welcome them with taken special care and providing thematic display, appropriately mapped teaching and learning aids and colorfully embellished environment stimulate the little one young mind.
Playgroup children at Gurukul play and learn with their age mates. Play dough, Clay play, Sand play as well as a splashes of water in the pool will help the toddlers to develop a love for their pre-school. Songs, stories and fun filled activities lure children to happily get acquainted to the pre-school setting to further their developmental journey simultaneously involving parents who support us in their little ones developmental progression.
Montessori I & II
The ‘Kindergarten’ means “Children’s garden”, which we feel that children are like flowers and they too need to be cultivated, watered and cared for. Our Junior kindergarteners is an extension of your child’s quality learning experience that begin with PG / Nursery classes and progress a little further as they prepare themselves for a formal schooling experience.
Senior kindergarteners are just getting ready for formal schooling along with the concepts and themes, providing a variety of experiences and fostering learning through play. The Kindergarten Programme makes use of a range of individual and group activities which create a lively and positive learning environment. Games, songs, creative projects, story-telling, role-playing, drawing and painting help develop children's foundational skills in literacy and numeracy. Ascending the ladder of developments, strengthening their foundations for an adventurous and exciting educational journey ahead we prepares children for the next step.
Class I - V
The Primary School Programme encourages inquiry and exploration, and develops children's competence in various skills - reading, writing, listening, speaking, problem-solving, observation, measurement and use of information and communications technology.
The wide range of curricular and co-curricular opportunities offered helps instil in children confidence and discipline. The focus on developing communication skills helps them appreciate the value of education, as it reflects in their ability to express themselves, in addition to developing pragmatic skills.
Students’ work is monitored on a day to day basis, through class work, home work and projects. Comprehension of course materials is tested, unit – wise and through mid term tests and semester end examinations. Progress reports and parent teacher meetings are a regular part of this program. Extra curricular activities form an integral part of the curriculum.
Class VI - VIII
The Middle School, challenges the learners with a broader curriculum; It lays the foundation for the High School Academic program in which developing skills related to writing, reading, reflecting, critical thinking, public speaking, fostering initiative among students and a desire to acquire knowledge. Study skills are honed, concepts taught are thoroughly grounded – group work and interaction with classmates cater to growing social awareness.
Projects, presentations and group activities are more formal and research-based. Inter-house cultural and sports competitions encourage healthy competition and team spirit. Art, Drama, Computer studies, Music, Yoga and Dance are integrated into the mainstream curriculum and are further strengthened as optional co-curricular activities.
Class IX - XII
The Secondary School curriculum starts with an emphasis on learning basic facts and gradually moves to detailed understanding of concepts, through interpretation and evaluation as students progress to higher classes. It is built around the principles of knowledge, understanding, application and skill-sets. Projects and the application of knowledge form an integral part and aid the development of analytical skills. The Programme aims to empower children to contribute towards a humane, just and pluralistic society, and promote introspective living.
Students actively participate in planning and organization of school celebrations and competitions and are encouraged to test their skills at the Inter School competitions. Classroom activities such as Elocutions, Debates, Skit presentation, Wordsmith, Creating and presenting advertisements enhance the students’ skills and constant practice hones them The School cabinet provides a valuable training ground for leadership.
